Words cannot express how much Mr. Chen has played a part in my success as a chemistry student. He is not just incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about all sciences, but most importantly patient and empathetic. What truly sets him apart is the genuine care he has for his students’ success. I still remember that first chemistry lecture in grade 10 when preparing for the Avogadro Exam. The way he taught even the most difficult concepts made it easy to understand; from the very beginning, Mr. Chen took the time to understand my learning style and all the practice problems he gave me were helpful to my understanding. Through his teachings, I was able to achieve success at even national-level chemistry competitions, and he plays an important role in my passion for chemistry to this very day. Beyond chemistry, Mr. Chen’s physics and biology lessons have further solidified my passion for science as a whole. Whether it was summer Physics 20 lectures or studying Biology 30, my success can attest to his strength in teaching all subjects of science. Truly, maximizing students’ potential. All in all, I am truly grateful for Mr. Chen, and I could not have imagined asking for a better teacher. Those three years with him felt merely like weeks, but I’m sure the amount of effort he put into me and all of his students makes the learning journey with him last a lifetime.
